Tinman specialized in the manufacture of containers to carry ice (typical production of Ibi, winter snow was compacted in ice to be exploited the remainder of the year), Rafàel Payà Picó had widened his range towards various domestic accessories. He will create under the pressure of his three sons "Payá Hermanos, S.A." (Paid brothers) in 1912. Another workshop was created at the same time, which became "Rico S.A.", then in 1925 the "Juguetes y Estuches" by former workmen of Paya SA. Thus Ibi will be regarded as the great Spanish producing center of toys.
Well, whis is all that I can
say about the Rico mark. If you have other informations, I will
collect them with pleasure in order to complete this document.
Particularly, if you can tell me why the names Rico and Sanson
are associated, and later Rico and tonka.
